Abstract
Major purpose of this study is to explore the effect of TV program framing about disabilities on college students' attitude to the disabled person. The subjects in this experimental study were 108 students and they are divided into three groups. One is controlled group, another is experimentalⅠ group who watch the moving image characterized 'Human Variation Frame' which defines disability as one of the various human conditions and nothing to be stigmatized, the other is experimental Ⅱ group who watch another moving image characterized 'Human Limitation Frame' which mostly emphasizes the trial or limitation caused by disability.
Results indicated that students' attitudes about the disabled changed positively, when they are exposed to TV program of Human Variation Frame. But exposed to Human Limitation Frame, students' attitudes changed negatively. Especially looking into the seven sub-category of attitude scale, the students' scores of generalized rejection, imputed functional limitation, inferred emotional consequences about the disabled increased after watching TV program of Human Variation Frame. But after watching TV program of Human Limitation Frame, students' scores of generalized rejection, imputed functional limitation decreased, inferred emotional consequences.
