Abstract
This paper presents a search for high mass resonances decaying

into four-muon final state with data collected in CMS detector in

2016. This proton-proton collision data set at = 13 TeV

corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 fb-1

is used.

Benchmark signal samples for leptophobic Z' and BSM higgs models are generated using Monte Carlo simulation. Based on the signal samples, inefficiency arising from the boosted signature is documented in the context of an event selection. Standard Model backgrounds are estimated using Monte Carlo simulation and data control samples. Upper limits on the cross section times branching ratio as a function of resonance mass are discussed for both benchmark models. No excess of events from the standard model expectation is observed.
