칼의 박리기법을 이용해 재구성한 사유의 공간 표현 연구

Abstract

이 논문은 2013년부터 2018년까지 칼을 이용한 흙의 박리기법으로 제작한 작품을 연구대상으로 한다. 이 연구는 재현의 현대적 발상과 그 의미를 이해하고 공간을 새로운 기법을 통해 재구성하고 있는 지에 대한 해답을 찾기 위한 목적을 갖는다. 그리고 그 공간들이 가지는 의미는 무엇인지, 공간은 어떠한 이론과 표현 방법에 근거하여 표현되었는지 서술할 것이다. 또한 나의 기법적 특징에 대한 근거와 독창성에 대하여 서술해 본다. 나의 작업은 일상적 장소를 새로운 사유와 경험에 대한 공유와 전달을 목표로 한다. 이에 따라 나는 장소에 대한 주체성을 되찾기 위해 감상자가 작품의 화면을 통해 공간을 새로운 내재적 사유로 경험해 볼 수 있는 기회를 열어 준다. 산수의 근원이 되는 돌에서 시작된 대상의 재현 방식과 표현방식에 대한 열의는 새로운 표현 기법을 창안해내는 데에 영감을 주었다. 이는 작고 소소한 돌을 시작으로, 대상을 향유하고 사유하여 공간의 재현을 통한 재구성을 시각예술로 표현하는 나의 작업을 체계적이고 논리적인 단계로 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 주제로 제작된 나의 작업들을 대상으로 그 창작동기와 목적, 제작과정에서 나타난 이론적 근거, 작품의 조형적 특성과 표현기법 등을 분석해보는 작품연구 논문이다. 본 논문은 크게 Ⅰ. 머리말, Ⅱ. 재구성한 사유 공간의 의미, Ⅲ. 칼을 이용한 공간의 재구성, Ⅳ. 조형적 특징 및 재료 기법, Ⅴ. 맺음말의 다섯 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 제 Ⅰ장에서는 연구의 목적, 연구 대상과 범위 및 방법을 제시한다. 제 Ⅱ장에서는 사유 공간의 범위의 경계를 설정하고 공간이 갖는 의미에 대해 고찰한다. 먼저 선택된 공간들에 대한 인지적 사고 과정을 이해하고, 돌과 산수의 공간이 가지는 의미를 탐구하여 제시한다. 이를 통해 동양의 자연관과 더불어 의취를 담는 그림으로 발전한 사유 공간의 의미를 담은 나의 작품의 정신성을 살펴본다. 제 Ⅲ장에서는 앞선 장에서 다룬 정신적 사유의 근거를 바탕으로 재구성하는 공간의 조형 원리에 대해 서술한다. 공간의 재구성을 선의 이용과 방(倣)적 시선을 통해 이해해보고자 한다. 이러한 방법으로 재구성한 공간은 실재로써 어떤 의미인지 생각해본다. 제 Ⅳ장에서는 화면을 구성하는 조형적 특징에 대해 서술한다. 이는 먹이라는 색의 상징성과 여백의 구도를 통해 시각적 특징을 알아보고, 나의 새로운 기법으로 흙과 칼을 이용한 준법의 사용을 연구한다. 제 Ⅴ장에서는 본론에서 논의 된 내용을 요약하고, 연구를 통해 얻은 결과 그리고 나아갈 방향에 대해 논의하였다. 나는 법고창신의 정신을 계승하여 동양화의 전통적 소재와 기법의 현대적 표현방법을 모색하고 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 본인의 작품에 적용된 다양한 요소들을 해석하고 논지를 전개함으로써 이론적 토대를 확고히 하고 향후 지속 될 작업의 방향모색과 발전의 기반으로 삼고자 한다.

This thesis is a study on the works produced by the technique of peeling off the soil using a blade from 2013 to 2018. The purpose of this study is to understand the modern idea of representation and its meaning, and to find the answer to whether a space is reconstructed through new techniques. Then I will describe what the meaning of the spaces are, and the space is expressed on the authority of what theories and methods of expression. Also, I will describe the basis and originality of my technical features. My works aim to share and communicate everyday places with new thoughts and experiences. For this reason, I open viewers an opportunity to experience a space with new intrinsic thoughts through screen of works to regain the subjectivity of the place. The enthusiasm for the methods of representation and expression of an object started from a rock, a root of landscape, inspired the creation of new expression techniques. This is to present my works which express a reproduced space as visual arts by enjoying and speculating on the object, started from a small rock, in a systematic and logical way. This is a thesis that analyzes the motivation and purpose, theoretical basis of the production process, and the formative characteristics and expression technique of my works made on this subject. This paper consists of the five main parts: Ⅰ. Preface, Ⅱ. Mening of reconstructed thinking space, Ⅲ. Reconstruction of space using blade, Ⅳ. Formative features and material techniques, Ⅴ. Conclusion. Chapter Ⅰ presents the purpose, object, scope and method of the study. Chapter Ⅱ defines the range and boundary of thinking space and considers the meaning of the space. First, it will explore the meaning of the space of stone and landscape and understand the cognitive thinking process of selected spaces. Through this, it examines the spirituality of my work which includes the meaning of thinking space, which has developed into a painting that captures the spirit and view of nature in the East. Chapter Ⅲ describes the formative principles of space reconstruction based on the grounds of mental reason discussed in the previous chapter. It will try to understand the reconstruction of space through the use of line and the viewpoint of copy(倣). Then, it thinks about what the space reconstructed in this way means as an existence. Chapter Ⅳ describes the formative features that organize the screen. It deals with the visual characteristics through the symbolism of the color of ink stick and the composition of the margins, and studies the use of Tsun-fa(Wrinkling Technique) with soil and knives by my new technique. Chapter Ⅴ summarizes the contents discussed in this paper, and converses about the results of this study and the direction of my work. I am looking for a modern way of expressing the traditional materials and techniques of oriental painting in the spirit of review the old and learn the new. Through this study, I intend to establish the theoretical foundation and a basis for future research and development by analyzing various elements applied to my work and developing my argument.
