Abstract
1980년대 초 불길처럼 타오른 조직문화의 유행이 경영학 전반에서 상당한 위상을 차지했었다. 그러나 불과 10∼15년 뒤엔 한 때 유행하고 사라지는 개념(one-time fad)처럼 취급되었다가 21세기 들어 조직문화 개념이 부활하여 그 중요성이 더욱 강하게 인식되고 있다. 여기서는 글로벌 객관적인 관점에서 조직문화가 중요시되는 이유와 더불어 한국에서 조직문화의 변화가 특별히 필요한 이유를 설명코자 한다.
The birth and the rise of organizational culture fad in the early 1980s were so great that people often called that the 1980s in business administration was an era of organizational culture. Unfortunately, only after 10 to 15 years, the enthusiastic interest in organizational culture withered among both academics and practitioners, and hence was treated as an onetime fad. With the beginning of the 21 century, however, this fading interest in organizational culture revived and its importance is getting stronger recognition. In addition to the descriptions of the seven global objective reasons for the revival of organizational culture, one particular reason for the need of organizational culture change in South Korea is described in detail.
