W. A. Mozart Piano Sonata in A Major, K. 331, F. Chopin Ballade No. 1 in g minor, Op. 23, M. Ravel Jeux deau, J. Brahms Fantasie, Op. 116 의 연구 및 연주

Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사 과정 졸업 연주 프로그램인 W. A. Mozart Piano Sonata in A Major, K.331, F. Chopin Ballade No. 1 in g minor, Op. 23, M. Ravel Jeux deau, J. Brahms Fantasie, Op. 116 에 대한 연구이다. 작품 배경과 곡의 구성, 그에 따른 특징들을 파악하여 올바른 연주를 도울 수 있도록 여러 방법을 제시하였다. 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791)의 소나타 작품 중 K.331은 모차르트가 파리에 체류 중에 쓴 곡으로 당시의 파리 음악 경향과 로코코형식이 잘 드러난다. <Piano Sonata in A Major, K.331>은 1악장이 변주곡형식이고 2악장은 미뉴에트로 3부분 형식이며, 3악장은 론도형식으로 구성되었는데, 이는 고정된 소나타의 형식과 구성에서 벗어난 획기적인 작품이라 할 수 있다. 그중 3악장은 터키풍 행진곡으로 18세기의 흐름을 잘 반영하고 있다. 쇼팽(Frederic Chopin, 1810-1849)은 낭만 시대의 대표적인 작곡가로서 수많은 피아노곡을 작곡하였다. 그중 4개의 발라드는 문학에의 영향으로 서정적이고 성악적이며, 다른 성격소품들에 비하여 규모가 큰 편이다. 본 논문에서 살펴볼 <발라드 1번>은 제시부 발전부 재현부를 가진 소나타형식이고, 제시부 앞에 서주부가 붙는 것과 마지막에 화려하고 긴 코다가 붙는 것이 특징적이다. 라벨(Maurice Ravel, 1875-1937)은 인상주의 작곡가로서 20세기 프랑스 음악에 큰 공헌을 하였다. 특히 상징주의와 고전주의 형식을 조화롭게 접목 시켜 자신의 음악 세계를 펼쳤으며, 자신의 독창적인 영역을 추구했다. 이 중 고전주의 소나타 형식을 가진 곡인 물의 유희는 리스트의 <에스테장의 분수 (Les Jeux deau à la Villa dEste, 1883)>에서 영감을 받아 1901년에 작곡된 초기작품이며, 선율이 간결하면서도 기교적이고, 화려한 음향효과를 추구했다. 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)는 신고전주의라 불리는 대표적인 독일 작곡가이며, 그의 <판타지 Op. 116>은 브람스의 후기 작품으로, 따로 표제를 사용하지 않은 성격소품에 해당한다. 활기가 넘치는 3개의 Capriccio와 내면성을 중시하는 4개의 Intermezzo로 구성되어있는 이 곡은 대부분 3부 형식으로 작곡되었으며, 테크닉이나 화려함을 중시하기보다는 내면의 표현을 중요하게 여겼다.

This paper is a study of <W. A. Mozart Piano Sonata in A Major, K.331>, <F. Chopin Ballade No. 1 in g minor, Op. 23>, <M. Ravel Jeux deau>, <J. Brahms Fantasie, Op. 116>, a graduation performance of the masters program. It suggests several ways to help proper performance through figuring out the background, structure and features of the work. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart(1756-1791)s <piano sonata K.331>, composed when he stayed in Paris and represents the trend of the music of Paris that time and the form of Rococo. 1st movement is formed of variation, 2nd ternary form as Minuet, and 3rd rondo. It can be considered as a groundbreaking work getting out of conventional sonata form and structure. Particularly, 3rd movement reflects the stream of 18th century with Turkish march. Frederic Chopin(1810-1849), a composer who represent Romantic period, wrote a lot of works for piano. 4 ballads, especially, are lyrical, affected by literature, have larger scale than other pieces. <Ballade No. 1> examined in this study is a sonata form made up of exposition, development, and recapitulation. It is characterized by introduction before the exposition and the splendid long coda at the end. Maurice Ravel(1875-1937) is an impressionism composer who contributed to the 20th century French music. Grafting symbolism and classical form harmoniously, he spreaded his world and seek the unique area. <Jeux deau> composed in 1901, inspired by Franz Liszts <Les Jeux deau à la Villa dEste, 1883>. This work has a traditional sonata form which has simple but technical melody pursues glamorous sound effects. Johannes Brahms(1833-1897) is a German composer representative of Neo-classicism. His late work, <Fantasie Op. 116>, is a character-piece that doesnt have any title. Consisted of 3 vigorous Capriccio and 4 internal Intermezzo mostly composed ternary form, put emphasis on the expression of the inner side rather than technique or splendor.
