Abstract

After World War Ⅱ, the world economy has been met the structural transformation. From 1980s" the economic status of the United States has been reduced in the world market, but the East Asia countries have appeared on the growth stage of the world economic rearrangement.

In the meantime, the economic imbalance between the United States and Japan has expanded , and the international market has increased the trade barriers of different groups against outsiders, such as the NAFTA(North American Free Trade Agreement) and the EC (European Community).

The purpose of this paper is to know the background of the West Countries" regionalism and protectionism, to investigate the process of international division pattern which is divided both national and local dimensions between Japan and East Asia, and to analyze these meanings, problems and roles
