A carreir frequency synchronization scheme is proposed for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in the presence of phase noise (PHN). In the proposed scheme, carrier frequency synchronization is performed based on the maximum-likelihood (ML) algorihtm using an OFDM preamble symbol. The proposed scheme is compared with conventional methods. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in the presence of PHN.en
