dc.description.abstractThe article describes how information was wisely used when a food-processing Korean company, currently the Worlds biggest manufacturer of "ramen", or instant fried noodle, successfully implemented a strategy to follow the leader in a foreign country, Japan, in developing and launching a new product. The author elaborates on the company's use of information for their creative adaptation of the foreign product for their domestic market, taking into account of the cultural difference between the two nations. In analyzing the case the author illustrates the process of utilization of information in the companys effort to overcome difficult barriers to their business achievements. The author relates the Korean style breakthrough efforts with Korean peoples historical learning to overcome sufferings from foreign invasion.-
