Abstract
Silver nanoparticles activated by electron acceptors, such as p-benzoquinone, are used as olefin carriers for facilitated olefin transport. Poly(ethylene-co-propylene) (EPR)-Ag0-p-benzoquinone (p-BQ) membranes show good separation performance of propylene-propane mixtures over periods longer than 100 hours. The ideal separation factor through 1:1:X EPR/Ag0/p-BQ membranes with varying weight ratios of p-BQ to EPR is shown in the figure.
