| dc.description.abstract | 대한제국기 전반에 걸쳐 지방에 수많은 학교들이 설립되었다. 학교들이 대대적으로 설립된 것은 1904년 이후의 일이지만 그 이전에 설립된 학교도 적지 않았다. 이러한 지방학교의 대부분은 사립학교였지만 공립학교도 상당수 존재하였다. 이렇게 학교의 설립은 이 시기를 특징짓는 가장 뚜렷한 현상 가운데 하나였다.
대한제국기 지방학교에 관한 기존 연구는 근대적 교육제도의 수립과정이라는 차원에서 공립학교를 살펴본 연구와 구국교육운동이라는 차원에서 사립학교를 살펴본 연구로 대별된다. | - |
