Abstract
The purpose of this article is to explain how to be different between the paintings & drawings by the novelists & poets and by the professional painters & cartoonists in the period Japanese colonialist ruled Korean peninsula. Moreover this article wants to reveal what is the achievement for literary men"s concern of fine arts to help the construction of Korean modern fine arts. In Asian traditional thought poem, caligraphy & paintings are one thing. Those are kinds of hobby of literary men, intellectuals called sadaebu. So in the beginning of modernization in Korean peninsula many of novelists & poets had painted & drawn all kinds of landscapes & persons. For exemples, Park Tae Won, Lee Gap Gee, Lee Sang, Rha Hae Suck, Kwon Gu Hyun had drawn and painted. Their works are not achieved same quality to master pieces of professional painters and cartoonists(Ahn Suck Young, Gil Jin Seup, Jeong Hyun Woong, Kim Yang Jun. Lee Koey Dee). But their works have been more storytelling and have given readers suggestions. And their works have not been independent but dependent upon the novel"s story.

Literary men"s concern of fine arts had a good effect on developing Korean style of western modern paintings from europe via Japan in the period Japanese colonialist ruled Korean peninsula. In addition to literary men"s concern of fine arts had made to exercise their description & aesthetic self regulation influence over Korean modern literature. Literary men"s concern of fine arts in the period Japanese colonialist ruled Korean peninsula had disappeared in the late 1930"s. In this times the compound of art genre has been divided and specialized to more expert arts.
