정신분석에서의 동기 이론

Abstract

Freud의 동기 이론(motivation theory) 이후로 정신분석에서는 동 기와 관련된 많은 논쟁과 발전이 있어왔다. 현대의 정신분석 임상가들은 추 동 이론(drive theory)을 자아 심리학(ego psychology), 대상관계 이론(object relations theory), 자기 심리학(self psychology)의 발전에 따라 다각적인 시 각에서 이해하고 통합하여 내담자를 이해하고 치료하는 데 활용하고 있다. 하지만 동기에 관한 개념은 아직까지 일관되게 정리되거나 통합되지 못하 고 있다. 본고에서는 추동 이론, 자아 심리학, 대상관계 이론, 자기 심리학 의 네 영역을 중심으로 동기와 관련된 개념들이 어떻게 전개되고 있는지를 기술하였는데, 여기에는 추동(drive), 욕구(need), 소망(wish), 환상(fantasy) 등 다양한 개념이 포함된다. 그리고 추동 이론과 관련하여 최근 활발하게 발전하고 있는 신경정신분석 학(neuropsychoanalysis)의 동기 이론도 함께 제시하였다. 이러한 영역 모 두 공통적으로 인간은 태어나면서부터 내재된 동기적 경향을 타고 나며, 발달적으로 다양한 변화를 하게 된다고 보고 있다. 마지막으로는 실제 임 상 장면에서의 치료와 관련하여 전능 환상(omnipotent fantasy)과 대상 복 구(object reparation)에 관한 것을 다루었다. Theories of motivation in psychoanalysis have undergone a century of debate and development since they were initiated by Freuds motivation theory. Contemporary psychoanalysts and psychotherapists psychotherapist utilize drive theory, ego psychology, object relations theory and self psychology in understanding and treating patient. However, theories of motivation in psychoanalysis have not been integrated consistently. In this article, motivational concepts such as drive, need, wish and fantasy are described in terms of drive theory, ego psychology, object relations theory and self psychology. In relation to drive theory, the theory of motivation in neuropsychoanalysis is also presented. These spheres all consider that there are intrinsic motivational tendencies in humans and that these undergo developmental transformation. Lastly, in the realm of treatment in clinical situations, omnipotent fantasy and object reparation are considered.
