dc.description.abstract | This study focuses on left revisionist interpretations of MR since late seventies.
MR has been evaluated in different perspectives. According to the prista ideologues, MR was described as "multic1ass based", "popular" revolution which tried to overcome economic backwardness and political repression. American academics also advocate such interpretation. Left revisionist historians challenged this kind of evaluations, objecting to the dominant view that MR would be "on-going process" and was materialized into PRl's one party democracy. They argue MR was already "dead", and appeal to form a new historical bloc to transform crisis-ridden Mexican society. However, leftist interpretations have many a different versions: Trotskyst (A. Gilly), Leninist (E. Semo) , and Gramscian (A. Cordova) one. These appreciations also confront challenges from new studies. | - |
