Abstract

1. After collecting data of 10 items (sex, age.. marriage history, birth order, socioeconomic condition, object of filiar piety, situation the child faced, situation the object faced, behavior of filiar piety and the results) from 63 oriental legends of filiar children, and artificially building the image of typical hero using the most prevalent fact of those items, the author tried to analyse his personality aad behavior pattern. 2. The image of typical hero could be described as "a male individual, born as the only child in a poor family, in his puberty or young adulthood. trying to provide a better life for his widowed healthy mother by sacrificing his own well-being while he himself has already been suffering from physical and emotional hardships, and who would finally get various compensations beyond his original wishes." 3. The characteristic of his behavior of filiar piety could be said as moral masochism, interpreted as manifesting symptoms of a character neurosis. and as a disturbance of interpersonalt'mother-child) relations, a pathological way of loving.
