Abstract
The theoretical functions of learning curves of DDY, ICR, and C57BL strain of mice and Wistar strain of rats are derived from statistical learning theory according to Estes (1950). The results are as follows: In DDY strain mice, the differences in learning curve of different training times show that the learning coefficient, q, is the largest for the light-reared training during the day time and the smallest for the dark-reared training during the night. The swimming activity rhythm was in accordance with sleeping rhythm; Training every one hour leads to sleep deprivation and disturbance of swimming activity rhythm and lessened swimming activity. Training everyone hour leads to sleep deprivation and changes of retrieval of early learned, its effect on retrieval was more serious during the night than during the day.
