This study examined which fuel gas has the greatest effect on acidity increment of rain, using the apparatus which makes simulated acid rain. Results showed that B-C oil gas and anthracite coal gas were the major factors which decreased the pH of distilled water, and that among the components of fuel gases, SO2 was the major factor increasing the acidity of rain. For the study, the simulated acid rain was sprinkled on thirty species of plant in order to exmine the symptoms by simulated acid rain. As a result, no plants were damaged by simulated acid rain of anthracite coal gas. Saxifraga stolonifera and Commelina communis were damaged by simulated acid rain of B-C oil gas. Especially, Saxifraga stolonifera responded hypersensitively.-
