조선시대 『歷代君鑑』ㆍ『歷代臣鑑』의 수용 양상과 특징

Abstract

조선시대에 국가 차원에서 이루어진 동아시아의 문헌 교류에 대한 실상을 파악하는 것은 동아시아 지식의 유통을 조감하기 위해 가장 우선되어야 하는 과제이다. 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원에 현전하는 중국본과 한국본 도서는 조선시대에 이루어진 중국서책의 수용 경로와 추이를 보여주는 귀중한 기록문화유산이다.

본 논문은 명에서 편찬한 『歷代君鑑』과 『歷代臣鑑』이 조선에 수용되는 양상과 특징을 고찰한 것이다. 『역대군감』과 『역대신감』이 몇 차례에 걸쳐 조선에 수용된 계기는 使行으로 북경에 갔을 때 황제에게서 받은 것이다. 조선에 들어온 『역대군감』과 『역대신감』은 명의 官刻本 중에서 內府刻本이다.

조선에서 『역대군감』ㆍ『역대신감』을 교정하거나 간인한 것은 세조ㆍ성종ㆍ숙종 연간이다. 조선에 수용된 『역대군감』ㆍ『역대신감』은 제왕학을 닦는 경연ㆍ서연에서 진강서책으로 활용되었으며, 『역대군감』ㆍ『역대신감』의 체재를 따른 감계류 서책들이 편찬되는 데에 영향을 주었다. 규장각한국학연구원에 현전하고 있는 규중4111ㆍ규중4120의 『역대군감』은 [廣運之寶]가 안보되어 있다. 이는 명나라 황실에서 수장하였던 본으로 조선으로 들어온 후 비단으로 개장하여 귀중본으로 관리하였던 것으로 그 가치가 높다.

The task that must be prioritized to overview the distribution of knowledge in East Asia is to understand the actual facts of the literature interchange in East Asia which had been done at national level in the Joseon period. The Joseons books and Mings books are collected in the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies of Seoul National University are very precious documentary cultural heritage that can show the routes and trend in which Mings books were accepted in Joseon.

This article examined the aspects and features of acception of Yeokㆍdaiㆍgunㆍgam (『歷代君鑑』) and Yeokㆍdaiㆍsinㆍgam (『歷代臣鑑』) that were compiled in Ming. Yeokㆍdaiㆍgunㆍgam and Yeokㆍdaiㆍsinㆍgam were given to Joseons envoys by Mings Emperor in Beijing and brought in Joseon over several times. Those carried into Joseon are the Naeㆍbuㆍgakㆍbon (內府刻本), one of the government published editions.

Yeokㆍdaiㆍgunㆍgam and Yeokㆍdaiㆍsinㆍgam were corrected and printed during King Sejo, Seongjong and Sukjong periods. Those books being brought in Joseon were used as the course material for the lectures through which kings and crown princes learned how to govern the nations. The books had influenced on the compilation of exemplary books which followed the format of Yeokㆍdaiㆍgunㆍgam and Yeokㆍdaiㆍsinㆍgam. The Imperial Seal of [Gwangunchibo (廣運之寶)] was sealed on the Yeokㆍdaiㆍgunㆍgam of Gyujung 4111 and Gyujung 4120 which are collected by the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies. Those two editions were originally possessed by the imperial family of Ming. After being brought in Joseon, they were newly bound in silk and maintained as a valuable edition because they are of great value.
