Abstract

새로운 기술과 디자인이 몹시 밀접한 관계라는 사실에는 이견이 없을 것 같 다. 적어도 디자이너라면 새로운 기술을 좇아야 하는 숙명을 지니고 있다고 하겠다. 니콜라스 카는 자신의 저서 <생각하지 않는 사람들>에서 디지털과 네트워 크 기술로 이전보다 훨씬 많은 정보에 접근하게 되었지만 한편으로는 인간 의 뇌가 담당할 기능을 아웃소싱하면서 사고 능력이 오히려 퇴화되고 있음 을 지적하고 있다. Today, technology and design are deeply interrelated. The fate of the designer has quickly become to seek out the newest and the fastest of the future. In his book The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains, writer Nicholas Carr argues that while the invention of the digital and online has allowed us to access a plethora of information formerly unavailable, technology has outsourced the work of the human brain, resulting in the degeneration of our intelligence.
