크로스 플랫폼에서의 매끄러운 읽기 경험 강화를 위한 디자인 가이드

Abstract

플랫폼 간의 이동이 용이해 지는 클라우드 컴퓨팅이 등장하면서 플랫폼 간의 매끄러운(seamless) 연결에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 크로스 플랫폼에서 읽기를 강화 시킬 수 있는 디자인 방안으로 일관성(Coherence), 몰입감(Immersion), 멀티모달의 경험 증대(Multimodality) 세 방향으로 접근하였다. 읽기의 단계는 읽기 전, 읽는 동안, 읽은 후 세 단계로 이루어지며 단계마다 다른 목표, 기능, 읽기 방식이 나타난다. 따라서 단계마다 적합한 플랫폼이 역할을 담당하게 하여 플랫폼 간의 일관성을 이루어 하나의 경험으로 이끌도록 제안하였다. 문헌조사에서 플랫폼의 특성을 따르는 글이 읽기 태도와 몰입감을 향상시키는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 각 플랫폼에서 나타나는 읽기 특징을 8가지 측면에서 살펴보고 휴대폰, 태블릿PC, PC, TV를 비교 분석하였다. 8가지 측면은 편집에 영향을 주는 스크린 사이즈, 글의 집중도와 관련된 기능의 복잡성, 정보의 접근성과 관련된 소지의 용이성, 정보습득 속도와 관련된 멀티모달리티, 참여도와 관련된 정보교환의 방향성, 글의 성격과 관련된 디바이스의 소유개념, 읽을 때 마음 자세와 관련된 디바이스 사용할 때 자세, 읽기 방식과 관련된 멀티테스킹 정도이다. 조선일보 사례분석을 통해 4개 플랫폼의 일관성을 스타일(style), 인터랙션(inter- action), 경험(experience), 생태계(eco-system) 4단계로 분석하였다. 설문조사를 통해 플랫폼에서 선호되는 글과 플랫폼 이동시 일관성의 우선순위, 각 플랫폼에서 멀티모달리티를 수반하는 읽기관련 기능이 도출되었다. 이 연구는 기존의 아날로그, 디지털 콘텐츠를 크로스 플랫폼 환경으로 끌어올 때 컨텐츠에 대한 몰입감 향상과 클라우드 생태환경에 맞는 새로운 개념의 콘텐츠 시장 발굴에 기여할 것이다.

As cloud computing has emerged, crossing platforms has become easier. Thus, interest inseamless transfers has grown. This study proposes three ways to reinforce seamless reading across different platforms: coherence, immersion, and multimodality. Reading process can be classified as pre-, while-, and post-reading processese, where each step has different goals, functions, and ways of reading. Thus, we develop a framework such that at each step, an appropriate platform is chosen to lead coherence on a cross-platform is chosen to lead coherence on a cross-platform design. In the literature review, it was observed that the texts reflecting the properties of the platform improve the reading attitude and immersion of the readers. To determine the reading characteristics of each platform, we analyze mobile phones, tablet-PCs, PCs and TVs with eight perspectives. These are screen size related to editing, the complexity of functions related to concentration, portability related to accessibility, multimodality relat ed to absorbing information, participation related to type of communication, ownership of a device related to the type of text, posture while using a device related to reading, and multitasking related to methods of reading. A case study of the Chosun Newspaper is done at the four levels of style, interaction, experience, and eco-system, finding situations in which consistency in the design properties of each platform is maintained. A survey is conducted to determine the characteristics of the texts preferred in each platform, the elements desired to be consistent across platfroms, and appropriate functions of each platform that encompass multimodality
