| dc.description.abstract | In all agricultural societies status-role designations are closely related to variations in the rights to use and control land. Various social ranks existed in the traditional Korean society were closely associated with the land tenure system of those days. Thus, the change in land tenure in contemporary Korea is of particular interest to social scientists.
