Since the generative-transformational theory of language was introduced in the description of the Korean language, there have been a number of readable papers dealing with the negation of the language_ Important enough, in my view, to be mentioned in the present study are S. H. Park (1967), S. C. Song (1967 and 1971), H. B. Lee (1970a and b), and C.K. Oh (1971 ). Although each of these papers involves some misconceptions about Korean negation, we can hardly deny the fact that they have made great contributions. toward unravel ing many previously unsolved problems in negation.ko_KR
