dc.description.abstractUnder the heading of Language and Cognition, this paper addresses the issues of
language acquisition, categorization, and language processing, which would share the common interest of psychological and linguistic studies.
Language Acquisition. Since the attempt to describe the syntax for the child speech has taken researchers into endless distributional detail of doubtful generality, semantic relational approach has revealed that the underlying structure of child speech is the nonlinguistic, conceptual one. Astill more complete description of child language must take account for the question about which aspects of a situation the child chooses to encode in speech. The author argues that grammar is nothing other than the realization rules or strategies which map the semantic relations and the context-referential intentions into the processible word-order.
