Active lexicographical research on Korean dictionaries since the late 1980s made it possible for Standard Korean Language Dictionary (1999/2008) to reach a fairly good specification of pronunciations. Giving pronunciations in Learners Dictionary of Korean (2006) became kinder and more practical owing to the two preceding user-friendly Korean dictionaries for Japanese. Yet those dictionaries need improvements in contents and form of showing pronunciations.
