- Abstract
- The aim of this paper is to consider curriculums of korean language education in pre-modern times Through this general survey from the time of enlightenment to titre of US military government, the predecessor of modern curriculum will be reconstructed In the titre of enlightenment, 'an imperial ordinance of education' promulgated by Gojong shows needs of modern language education and the concepts of modern curriculum. In this ordinance, there are lessons of school work and necessary subjects of a course. Under the rule of Japanese, 'order of education in Chosun' promulgated by Japanese imperialism shows gradual erasure of korean language & letters. And in titre of US military government, 'a syllabus of lectures' promulgated by US military government office is principal items. This syllabus contains the main teaching points, purposes of korean language education, specially a division of contents.
According to this argument, curriculums of korean language education in
pre-modern tines is the product of its hard work to modernization.
