言語 習得 및 文化 關聯 理論의 動向

Abstract

언어습득 연구에는 發達心理學, 言語學, 心理言語學, 人類言語學, 言語病理學, 言語敎育, 社會言語學 등 여러 학문이 관여한다. 각 분야마다 연구의 초점이 다르다. 言語 習得 理論에는 네 가지 흐름이 있다. (1) 제1언어습득 이론으로는 대조분석가설, 보편문법이론이 대표적이다. (2) 주의 집중 이론은 인지심리학 관점에서 학습이 어떻게 이루어지는지는 설명하여 행동주의 학습 이론을 대치한다. (3) 경험 이론에는 입력 가설, 대화 이론이 있다. (4) 사회 이론은 학습자를 둘러싼 정치, 경제, 문화적 사회 환경을 중시한다.

언어습득론에는 열 가지 유형이 있다. 행동주의 이론, 사회-상호작용주의 이론, 인지 이론, 의도성 모형, 경쟁 모형, 사용-기반 이론, 모듈 이론, 보편 문법, 통사적 자동 처리설, 의미적 자동 처리설, 연결주의 이론이 있다. 이들 이론은 언어습득의 선천성과 후천성에서 차이를 보인다. 언어 습득 이론의 변인들로는 言語間 影響, 言語環境, 認知, 學習者 言語, 外國語 適性, 動機, 感情 및 個人差에 대해 다양한 이론과 실험들이 제기되고 있다.

Several disciplines such as developmental psychology, linguistics, psycholinguistics, linguistic anthropology, speech-language pathology, language education, and sociolinguistics are involved with language acquisition studies. Each discipline has its own research focus. There are four trends in language acquisition theories: (1)Contrastive Analysis Hypothesis and Universal Grammar Theory in first language acquisition theories, (2)Attention Theories which replace behaviorism learning theories by explaining how learning occurs from a cognitive psychological perspective, (3)Experience Theories including Input Hypothesis and Conversation Theories, (4)Social Theories which place language learning in political, economical, and sociocultural environment surrounding a language learner.

There are also ten types of language acquisition theory: Behaviorist Theory, Social-Interactionist Theory, Cognitive Theory, Intentionality Model, Competition Model, Usage-Based Theory, Fodor's Modularity Theory, Universal Grammar, Syntactic Bootstrapping, Semantic Bootstrapping, and Connectionist Theories. These theories are differentiated in terms of nature and nurture in language acquisition. The variables of language acquisition theories are age, crosslinguistic influences, linguistic environment, cognition, learner language, foreign language aptitude, motivation, affect and other sources of individual differences. There have been various theories and experiments on these variables.
