한국어 제외구문 연구

Abstract

본고에서는 화자가 특정한 형식적 표지를 사용하여 일정한 범위에서 특정 개체를 제외함으로써 나머지 대상들이 제외 관련 다양한 의미를 나타내는 것을 제외구문으로 보았다.

제외구문은 형식상 화자에 대해 제외되는 대상과 그것이 범위에서 제외됨을 밝혀주는 형식적 표지, 그리고 화자 서술의 초점으로 되는 제외되고 나머지 부분으로 구성된다. 본고는 서술의 편의상 화자에 의해 제외되는 대상은 제외항으로, 특정 대상이 범위에서 제외되었음을 의미하는 형식적 표지는 제외 표지사로, 서술 초점으로 되는 나머지 부분은 논의항으로 칭한다. 이들은 흔히 제외항+제외 표지사+논의항의 순으로 제외 표지사는 제외항 뒤에 오는 것으로 특징적이며 구정보에 대한 제시적 기능과 함께 신정보에 대한 암시적 기능 및 문장의 논리성 표현에도 중요한 기능을 담당한다. 이외 제외구문은 제외항을 전제로 하는 논의항의 의미에 따라 추가성 제외구문, 일반성 제외구문과 유일성 제외구문 및 한정성 제외구문, 비교성 제외구문으로 분류할 수 있는데 이들은 표현의 간결성, 내용의 정확성과 정보에 대한 강조로 독특한 화용적 효과를 나타낸다.

Some elements of the speaker's statement may be excluded by using certain formal markers, making the rest part of the statement able to be explained into different meanings. In this paper, such construction is called the exclusive construction.

In form, an exclusive construction usually consists of: the part excluded by the speaker(exclusive item), the formal marker used to exclude certain part of the statement(exclusive marker). And the rest part which is the focus of the statement(analytical item). These three usually appear in the order of "exclusive item+exclusive marker+analytical item". The exclusive marker always appears behind the exclusive item. Exclusive constructions can be subdivided into supplemental, general, unique, limited, and comparative exclusive construction, which can cause different pragmatic effects.
