In discussing the history of world hegemony , the France in the 18th century provides an interesting example as a case of failure. Instead of following the hegemony state as did Holland in 17th and Great Britain in the 20th century, France pursued her own way. It consisted mainly of the reform of the prejudices of the Old Regime and of the search for the national identity. This caused a tension at the of the Old Regime, whose consequences are well known.-
