내담자의 권리에 대한 고찰

Abstract

상담의 전문화에 따라 상담 윤리와 내담자의 권리 보호의 필요성이 제기되고 있으나 상담자의 윤리의식 제고를 위한 교육이나 제도적 장치는 미흡한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 주요 상담관련 학회의 윤리강령에 제시된 내담자의 권리를 분석하고 그 권리의 보호방법을 살펴보았다. 상담과정에서 상담자가 고려해야 할 내담자의 권리로서 상담과정에 대한 정보를 얻을 권리, 상담과정에 참여할 권리, 의사결정의 권리, 동의능력 결여시의 권리 등이 제시되었으며, 이를 보호하는 방법으로는 상담구조화, 주지된 동의, 윤리문제 해결절차 수립, 상담자 교육 및 연구 강화 등이 제시되었다. 내담자 권리에 대한 쟁점과 내담자 권리 보호를 위해 필요한 사항을 논의하였다.

The ethics in counseling and rights of clients become important issues while professionalism of counseling is improved. The purpose of this study is to analysis the rights of clients at counseling process by reviewing a few ethics codes of counseling associations and to find some ways to protect the rights. There are the right of information about counseling process, the right of participation in counseling process, the right of determination, and the right while ability to agree is deficient. Counseling structuring, informed consent, process of conflicts resolution, counselor education, and research on this issues are proposed as ways to protect the rights of clients. Some issues and tasks on the rights of clients are discussed.
