by Moeschlin using Pyrifer is recognized as being a simple yet accurate test, however, it has disadvant· ages in that the determination of dosage is difficult and side effects such as chills and fever are not infrequently encountered. Lately, Westphal, et aI. , extracted from Salmonella abortus equi a purified lipopolysaccharide which even in minute doses regularly causes significant changes in the leucopoietic system of normal humans and rabbits. | - |
