Therapeutic eκects of bromocriptine were evaluated
in 16 idiopathic Parkinsonism patients. 22.5mg of
bromocriptine was added to the conventional antiparkinsonian
agents including L-dopa, and clinical
evaluation was performed according to the Northwestern
University Disability Scales(NUDS) & Physical
Eximination Disability Scales(PEDS). Both
NUDS and PEDS showed a significant improvement
in score after bromocriptine therapy, especially in
walking, speech, tremor and finger dexterity. The
eight responders had taken significantly larger doses
of L-dopa and shorter periods of L-dopa treatment
than non-responders.
Bromocriptine showed a therapeutic effect as an
adjuvant to the L-dopa in idiopathic Parkinsonism.
