다양한 문화의 융합으로 만들어진 석굴암

Abstract

서울대학교 미술대학 산업디자인과 및 동 대학원 졸업하고 현재 서울대학교, 연세대학교, 이화여대 등에서 강의를 하고 있으며, 현이라는 이름을 건 작업실에서 각종저술 작업과 여러 매체에 원고를 기고하고 있다. 디자인은 문화적 소산이라는 일념으로 한국전통의 현대화를 목표로 하고 수년간 전국에 숨어있는 역사적 산물들이나 책갈피에 끼어있는 과거들을 헤집고 다니게 되었다. 저서로는 좋아 보이는 것들의 비밀 Good Design / 길벗"(2004년 출간, 현재8쇄발행), Great Designer 10 / 길벗"(2005년 출간, 현재 3쇄발행, 2006년 7월 첫째주 교보문고 예술분야 1위), 붉은색의 베르사체 회색의 아르마니 / 길벗(2007년 출간, 현재 3쇄 발행, 2008년 5월20일 네이버 오늘의 책에 선정) 르 코르뷔지에 vs 안도 타다오 / 숨비소리(2007년 발간) 등이 있다. 이중 Great Designer 10과 붉은색의 베르사체 회색의 아르마니는 대만에서 출간예정이다. 현재는 한국문화재를 디자인적 시각에서 해석한 책과 CEO를 위한 디자인, 각국의 문화와 디자인의 상관관계에 관한 책을 집필 중이다. He earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Dept. of Industrial Design in the College of Fine Arts at Seoul National University. He now teaches students at Seoul National University, Yonsei University and Ewha Womans University. He has written many journals and articles in his studio, "Hyeon." With a lifetime goal of modernizing Korean tradition in a belief that design is the product of culture and civilization, he has thoroughly investigated the past and historical facts, visiting every corner of the country. Right now, he is writing a book that reinterprets Korean cultural heritage from a design perspective and books about design for CEOs and the correlation between culture and design.
