근대소설에 나타난 아버지 상의 변천과 가정교육

Abstract

이 연구는 염상섭의 『삼대』(1931), 조세희의 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』(1975-1978), 그리고 박범신의 『소금』(2013)이라는 세 장편소설에 나타난 아버지 상을 추출하고, 그 아버지 상이 드러내는 부권의 변천을 통하여 현재의 가정교육에 주는 시사점을 도출하려는 시도이다. 아버지 상을 추출할 때 사용된 연구방법은 행위의 제도적 차원에 주목하는 문화분석이다. 세 근대소설에서 선택된 주인공 아버지들은 『삼대』의 조의관과 조

지 상의 일면을 보여준다. 이 근대적 아버지 상의 변천을 아버지가 가진 물질적, 화폐적 권력과 정신적, 이념적 권위를 중심으로 살펴볼 때, 부권의 원천으로서 더 중요한 것은 구원적 이념의 권위이며, 부권은 전반적으로 실추되었다고 보기 어렵다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 이 구원적 이념의 권위는 가정생활의 한 측면으로서의 가정교육의 핵심을 이룬다. 오늘날 아버지들은 양육자와 훈육자의 역할을 요구받고 있다. 그러나 아버지가 교육자로서의 역할을 도외시할 때, 가정교육은 그 포괄성과 고차성을 잃게 된다. This thesis tries to analyse the images of fathers and extract the suggestions of the family education from the long novels, Three generations written by Yeom Sang-sup, A dwarf launches a little ball by Cho Se-hui, and Salt by Park Bum-shin. The approach to the meaning of cultural dimension which is distinguished from the meaning of individual dimension, is the method of the thesis. Four images of fathers from the cultural perspective are extracted from the behaviors of the protagonists, Jo Eu-gwan, Jo Sang-hun, Kim Bul-i, and Sun Myung-woo respectively.

We can see the cultural images of fathers in 1930s, 1970s and 2010s from the four images of fathers. The transition of the four modern fathers' images based on the material and monetary

power and the moral and ideological authority, shows us the fact that the authority is more important factor of the paternal rights, and that the rights have not fallen through the modern

era. The redemptive ideology of the authority especially makes the core element of the family education which is an aspect of the family life. Contemporary fathers must meet the demands

of the times that they have to be a fosterer and a discipliner. However, if they would give up the role of educator, family education at the present and future would have lost the hight

and width of the family education.
