자기회귀교차지연모형을 적용한 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울 간의 인과 관계

Abstract

이 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 자아존중감과 양육스트레스 및 우울 간의 인과관계를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울의 3년이라는 시간의 변화에 따른 안정적 지속성을 분석하고, 이들 변인 간의 인과관계를 단기종단적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 육아정책연구소의 한국아동패널자료(4차년도 ~ 6차년도)를 자기회귀교차지연모형(Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Model)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 4차년도(2011년)~6차년도(2013년)까지의 3개년도 시점에 걸쳐 아버지의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울의 자기회귀계수를 측정한 결과, 이전 시점의 아버지의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울은 각각 이후 시점의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 자아존중감과 양육스트레스, 우울의 교차회귀계수를 측정한 결과, 이전 시점의 아버지의 자아존중감은 이후 시점의 양육스트레스에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 이후 시점의 우울에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 한편, 이전 시점의 양육스트레스는 이후 시점의 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으나, 이후 시점의 우울에는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 이전 시점의 우울은 이후 시점의 자아존중감과 이후 시점의 양육스트레스에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 하여 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 자아존중감, 양육스트레스, 우울 간의 인과관계에 대한 논의 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

The study examined the systematic relationship among fathers self-esteem, parenting stress, and paternal depression. Autoregressive cross-lagged model was used to measure the longitudinal relationship among fathers self-esteem, parenting stress, and paternal depression. Three waves(2011~2013) of data from the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education were analyzed in this study. The findings of the current study were as follows. First, fathers self-esteem, parenting stress, and paternal depression had a significant effect on subsequent fathers self-esteem, parenting stress, and paternal depression respectively. Second, there was the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between fathers self-esteem and parenting stress, but there was not the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between fathers self-esteem and paternal depression. Third, the longitudinal reciprocal relationship existed between parenting stress and paternal depression, but had not the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between fathers self-esteem and parenting stress. As the results of this study, several discussions of the reciprocal relationship among fathers self-esteem, parenting stress, and paternal depression for future studies were presented.
