Abstract
We report the photovoltaic properties of the conjugated polymer/fullerene (C60) heterojunction solar cells in which poly[2-4-[3,7 dimethyloctyl)oxy]phenoxy-],4-phenylenevinylene-co-2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)],4-phenylenevinylene] (p-DMOP-PPV-co-MEH-PPV) is and electron-donor and C60 is and electron-acceptor. THe insertion of 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BCP) as and exciton-blocking layer shows significantly enhanced efficiency compared with the single layer cell of p-DMOP-PPV-co-MEH-PPV. The ITO/p-DMOP-PPV-co-MEH-PPV/C60/BCP/AL cell shows quantum efficiency of 2.3% and power conversion efficiency of about 0.11% upon illumination of about 0.2mW/cm2 at 495 nm.
