재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

본 연구는 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위 수행 정도 및 이에 영향을 미치는 제 요인들을 파악하기 위한 횡단적 서술연구이다. 본 연구를 통해 재한 중국유학생들의 건강증진행위에 대한 인식을 높이고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울시에 거주하고 있는 서울소재 S대학 등 6개 대학에서 재학 중인 중국유학생 남녀 221명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료수집은 2011년 1월 5일부터 4월 20일까지 진행되었으며 대학교를 직접 방문하거나 메일 발송을 통해 설문 조사하였다. 설문을 통해 일반적 특성, 건강증진행위, 문화적응스트레스, 사회적지지, 자아존중감을 조사하였으며 건강증진행위는 Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile-II를 이용하여 측정하였고 문화적응스트레스, 사회적지지, 자아존중감은 각각 Acculturative Stress Scale for International Student, Interpersonal Support Evaluation List, Self-Esteem Scale로 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS프로그램(Version 18.0)을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation, Multiple Regression으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위 정도는 평균 2.5±0.3(4점 만점)점으로 중간수준 이상으로 건강증진행위를 수행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 재한 중국유학생의 문화적응스트레스 정도는 평균 2.2±0.6(5점 만점)점으로 대체적으로 낮게 나타났다. 사회적지지 정도는 평균 3.0±0.5(4점 만점)점으로 보통 이상으로 대체적으로 높은 지지를 받았다. 자아존중감 정도는 평균 2.9±0.5(4점 만점)점으로 대체적으로 높았으며 자신의 자아에 대해 긍정적으로 수용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위는 민족(r=-.163, p=.015), 흡연여부(r=-.191, p=.004) 스스로 지각하는 건강상태(r=-.285, p<.001), 문화적응스트레스(r=-.177, p=.008)와 통계적으로 유의한 부적 상관관계를 나타내었고, 사회적지지(r=.171, p=.011), 자아존중감(r=.246, p<.001)간에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 다변량 분석에서는 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 민족, 성별, 흡연여부, 자아존중감, 지각된 건강상태가 포함된 모형(F=11.089, p<001)이 건강증진행위 영향요인을 유의하게 설명하였으며 이들 5개 변수가 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진 행위의 20.5%(R²=.205, p<.001) 설명하였다. 이상의 연구결과를 종합해 보면, 재한 중국유학생들이 건강증진행위를 수행하는데 있어서 건강책임의식을 제고해야 하며, 신체활동 및 영양상태에 대한 특별한 건강관리가 필요할 것이다. 또한 재한 중국유학생의 건강증진행위를 돕기 위하여 자아존중감의 강화가 필요할 것이다. 자아강화 프로그램의 개발을 통해 건강증진행위 실천을 높일 수 있도록 해야 한다.

This study was a cross sectional descriptive study. The purpose was to determine the level of the health promoting behaviors and to identify the factors affecting the level among the Chinese students in Korea. Two hundred twenty one subjects were recruited from six different universities located in Seoul. The data was collected from January 5th, 2011 to April 20th, 2011. Demographics, perceived health status, health promoting behaviors, acculturative stress, social support, and self esteem were assessed. Health promoting behavior was measured by Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile-II, and acculturative stress, social support, self esteem were measured using Acculturative Stress Scale for International Student, Interpersonal Support Evaluation List, and Self-Esteem Scale. As a result of this study, first, the levels of health promoting behaviors among the Chinese students in Korea were on average 2.5±0.3. In addition, the mean of their acculturative stress levels was 2.2±0.6. The average of degrees of social support was 3.0±0.5. The mean of self esteem was 2.9±0.5. Moreover, the ethnicity (r=-.163, p=.015), smoking (r=-.191, p=.004) self-perceived health status (r=-.285, p<.001), and acculturative stress (r=-.177, p=.008) represented statistically significant negative correlations with health promoting behaviors. On the other hand, social support (r=.171, p=.011) and self esteem (r=.246, p<.001) showed statistically significant positive correlations with health promoting behaviors. On multivariate analysis using stepwise multiple regression analysis, it was found that ethnicity, gender, smoking, self esteem, and perceived health status were significant predictors on health promoting behaviors of Chinese students in Korea. The model was significant, and the health promoting behaviors of Chinese students were explained 20.5% (R²=.205, F=11.089, p<.001) by these five variables. In conclusion, health promoting behaviors including sense of health responsibility, the physical activity, and nutrition should be enhanced. Moreover, strengthening of self esteem and helping smoking cessation will increase Chinese students' health promoting behaviors in Korea.
