The purpose of this thesis is for comparing the attitude to New Religipous Movements(NRM) between Christianity and Buddhism. Christianity is a way-oriented religion, whereas Buddhism is a goal-oriented religion. Buddhism put emphasis on finding enlightenment itself and Buddhists assert there are various ways to achieve enlightenment. But Christians believe there is only one way of salvation. In other words, they are more concerned with some particular way to enlightenment or salvation than itself. If a believer dont agree with some of christian doctrine, he/she is considered to be a heresy. An arguments for orthodox and heresy still progresses in Christianity whenever NRM appeared. But Buddhism has only community of Upāya(方便) not cult or heresy.-
