Abstract
As is commonly known, the annotation of Twusi-Enhay(杜詩諺解) consists of two kinds of sentences stylistically - Hyenthwo(懸吐) Style and Enhay(諺解) Style. The former is completely identical to or at least similar to a Classical Chinese sentence with Korean syntactic markers(懸吐) outwardly, while the latter is written in a more natural Middle Korean. The boundary between these two styles, however, is far from strict, but they can be easily alternated even within the same sentence. Furthermore, numerous Hyenthwo Style sentences contain grammatical errors when rendered in Classical Chinese if Hyenthwo are deleted.
Based on these facts, it is possible to conclude that these two sentence styles, when seen as a unified whole, in the annotation of Twusi-Enhay form a gradual continuum, and are unified into the concept of the Vernacular(諺語) at least in the consciousnesses of its authors.
