Abstract
The scope of smart magnetic silica core-shell nanomaterials in specific targeting, cell sorting, and bioimaging was demonstrated. In the study the silica shell of the MNP@SiO2 incorporated with commonly used dyes were modified with various functional organosilicon compounds. The surface of the dual-functionalized core-shell nanoparticles presented two key functional groups - PEG moiety and amine moiety. The MNP@SiO2 exhibited the specific recognition of floating tumor cells.
