친밀한 파트너십과 가족정책 관련 뉴스기사 및 댓글에 대한 토픽모델 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 친밀한 파트너십(intimate partnership)과 정책 관련 뉴스기사와 댓글의 토픽 및 프레임을 분석하여 다양한 파트너십에 대한 정책적 이슈를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2016년 7월부터 2019년 6월까지 3년 동안 다양한 파트너십 관련 단어(결혼, 비혼, 동거, 이혼, 재혼, 졸혼 등)와 정책을 동시에 포함하는 뉴스기사 7,245개와 이에 대한 댓글 2,938개를 분석하였다. 토픽모델 분석을 활용하여 분석한 결과, 뉴스기사에서는 35개의 토픽이, 댓글에서는 20개의 토픽이 도출되었다. 각 토픽의 내용을 토대로 프레임으로 묶은 결과, 뉴스토픽은 9개의 프레임으로, 댓글토픽은 7개의 프레임으로 통합되었다. 뉴스기사와 댓글에서 공통적으로 나타난 프레임은 정책 과정, 출산ㆍ양육, 다양한 가족, 주거, 경제, 젠더, 한국사회였으며, 같은 프레임 내에서도 뉴스토픽과 댓글토픽에서 차이점이 발견되었다. 본 연구를 통해 친밀한 파트너십에 대한 언론과 대중의 논의는 출산 및 양육, 주거, 고용, 성평등 등 광범위한 사회적, 정책적 이슈와 관련되어 있음이 드러났다. 또한 대중은 파트너십과 관련된 정책적 지원과 재원마련에 특히 관심이 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 친밀한 파트너십의 다양화를 지원하는 정책을 위한 시사점을 제공했다는 데에 의의가 있다.

In this study, we aimed to identify topics and overarching frames from news articles and readers comments that mentioned specific types of intimate partnerships and policies. We analyzed news articles that included 21 partnership-related words (e.g., marriage, non-marriage, cohabitation, divorce, remarriage) and policy and that were posted online between July 2016 and June 2019. Using 7,245 news articles and 2,938 comments, we conducted topic modeling and then integrated the identified topics into frames. A 35-topic model was chosen for the news articles with topics classified into nine frames. For readers comments, we identified 20 topics, which were grouped into seven frames. The frames that both news articles and readers comments had in common were policy process, childbirth and childcare, diverse families, housing, economy, gender, and Korean society. However, the news articles and comments addressed different topics even though they had similar frames. This study contributes to the literature by revealing that both the news media and the public discuss intimate partnerships in the context of childbirth, housing, employment, and gender equality. Our results also show that the general public pays attention to support from the government and public financing related to intimate partnerships.
