케냐의 주거용 아파트 단위평면 구조에 나타난 공간 활용변화 연구 - 공간구문론을 활용한 시계열분석을 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구는 공간적 구성과 사회적 함의를 분석하는 방법으로 아파트 공간을 분석하였다. 개발 도상국에 주택을 제공하는 효율적인 방법으로 아파트가 채택되고 있으며, 이들 국가에서 아파트는 급속한 도시화와 경제적 번영의 가시적인 결과물로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 공간구문론을 활용한 시계열 분석을 통해 2000년부터 2016년까지 케냐 나이로비에 지어진 아파트의 단위 평면도에서 발견된 변화를 조사하고자 했다. 또한, 해당 단위평면들에서 시계열적으로 변화가 발생한 원인을 해석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면, 2000년부터 2004년까지의 아파트는 케냐 아파트의 맥락에 맞지 않는 범용적인 아파트 주택 트렌드에 따라 설계된 새로운 주택 유형이었다. 2005년부터 시작된 정치, 경제, 사회 문제의 조정과 변화에 따라 아파트가 대중적인 주택 유형이 되었고, 더 빈번하게 건축되었다. 또한, 2005년부터 2016년까지 아파트 단위평면에서는 케냐 생활 스타일의 문화 콘텐츠를 수용하고 반영하기 시작했다. 이러한 변화는 복도, 개인 영역 및 주방의 위치를 통해 볼 수 있었다.

This study focuses on apartments as a way to analyze the spatial configurations and social implications of such provision. Kenya has thelargest economy in East Africa and the average growth rate of urbanization in Kenya is thigh, therefore it is important to understand thecause and change of urban expansion by analyzing their housing type. Apartments are being adopted as an efficient method of providinghouses for developing countries. In these countries, apartments are the tangible outcome of rapid urbanization and economic prosperity. Thisstudy intends to examine changes found in the unit floor plans of the apartment built in Nairobi, Kenya from 2000 to 2016 by means oftime series analysis using the context of space syntax model. Further, this study aims to elaborate on why such changes have occurred. According to the results of this study, apartment from 2000 to 2004 was a new housing type designed in the universal/global trend ofapartment housing which did not fit into the context of Kenyan apartments. As adjustment and changes in political, economic, and socialissues that started to appear in 2005 apartments became more of a popular housing type and were constructed more frequently. Furthermore,apartments from 2005 to 2016 started to embrace and reflect the cultural contents of Kenyan living style where these characteristics started toreappear in floor plans. These changes are seen through the location of the corridor, private zones, and the kitchen.
