24절기 한자의 시각시（視覺詩） 디자인 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 시각시「視覺詩」의 형식을 참고하여 한자를 중심으로 24 절기의 뜻을 표현하고, 시각 디자인에서 한자 단어 의미와 그 정서를 표현하는 방식을 탐구하려 한다. 인쇄 산업의 발전과 함께 20 세기 서양의 아방가르드 시인들보다 강력한 시의 표현방식을 모색하면서 구체시(Concrete poetry) 운동이 일어나게 된다. 그들은 시 본연의 모습을 깨뜨리고 시의 언어적 의미보다 시각적 효과에 더욱 집중했다. 구체시는 문자와 기호의 교묘한 조합으로 시각적 이미지를 보여줌으로써 그 뜻을 표현하며 이를 시각시(Visual poetry)라고도 불린다. 이 논문은 이러한 시각시의 타이포그래피에 대해 연구한다. 논문의 전반부는 작품 주제 선정과 표현방식을 모색한 과정이고, 이 과정에서 문제점 및 해결 방법에 관해 서술한다. 중간 부분은 최종적으로 선택된 표현방식인 시각시에 관한 배경연구이고, 마지막으로 시각시를 기반으로 재디자인한 24 절기 작품에 관해 설명한다. 본문은 개인 창작 과정에서 어떤 문제점에 부딪히게 되었는지, 어떻게 창작 방향을 모색하였는지, 결국 어떤 작품이 탄생하였는지에 대해 서술했다.

This study aims to express the meaning of the 24 Solar Terms centered on Chinese characters by referring to the form of visual poetry, and to explore the meaning of Chinese words and the method of expressing their meanings in visual design. With the advancement in the printing industry, there was the emergence of the concrete poetry movement, which sought a more powerful form of poetic expression than that achieved by avant- garde poets of the West in the 20th century. Poets of the concrete poetry movement broke away from the traditional form of poetry, focusing more on the visual effect than on the linguistic meaning of poems. Concrete poetry delivers its meaning by displaying visual images through clever combinations of letters and symbols, and it is 88 also referred to as visual poetry. This study investigates the typography of such visual poetry. The first half of the study describes the process of selecting a theme and searching for a method of expression, including the problems and solutions in this process. The middle part is a background study on visual poetry, the expression method that was finally selected, and the final part is a description of the piece on 24 seasonal divides that was redesigned based on visual poetry. This study describes the challenges during the creative process, the directions of creative activity, and the final creation.
