C. Debussy <Quatre Chansons de Jeunesse>와 A. Zemlinsky <Walzer gesänge Op.6>의 가곡에 대한 연구

Abstract

클로드 드뷔시(1862-1918)는 프랑스 근현대 음악을 대표하는 작곡가로 상징주의 시인들과 교류하며 인상주의 미술가들의 영향을 받아 인상주의적 선율과 리듬, 색채감 있는 화성법 등을 사용하여 자신만의 독특한 음악 세계를 표현하였다. <Quatre Chansons de Jeunesse>(4개의 젊은 날의 노래)는 상징주의 시인인 폴 베를레느(1844-1896)의 시에 의한 Pantomime(무언극)과 Clair de lune(달빛), 테오도르 드 방빌 (1823-1891)의 시에 의한 Pierrot(삐에로), 그리고 스테판 말라르메 (1842-1898)의 시에 의한 Apparition(환영) 총 4곡으로 구성되었다. 알렉산더 폰 쳄린스키(1871-1942)는 후기 낭만주의와 20세기 모더니즘의 과도기에 활동한 오스트리아의 작곡가이다. 당시 유행하던 무조음악과 같은 음악적 특징을 사용하지 않았고 자신만의 음악을 추구하였다. 쳄린스키의 연가곡 <Walzer gesänge, Op.6>는 제 1곡 Liebe Schwalbe(사랑스러운 제비야), 제 2곡 Klagen ist der Mond gekommen(달빛이 전하는 슬픔), 제 3곡 Fensterlein, nachts bist du zu(작은 창문, 밤에는 닫혀 있고), 제 4곡 Ich gehe des Nachts(나는 밤을 걷고 있다), 제 5곡 Blaues Sternlein(파란 작은 별아), 제 6곡 Briefcehn schrieb ich(나는 편지를 썼다) 총 6곡으로 구성되었다. 본 논문은 먼저 드뷔시의 생애와 작품, 가곡의 특징과 상징주의 문학과 시인들을 알아보고 쳄린스키의 생애와 음악 및 가곡의 특징을 살펴보고 시를 알아보아 드뷔시의 작품 <4개의 젊은 날의 노래>와, 쳄린스키의 <Walzer Gesänge, Op.6>에 대한 이해를 돕고자 하였다.

Claude Achille Debussy(1862-1918) was a represetative modern times French composer. Debussy composed music that was influenced by symbolist poets and impressionist artists. <Quatre Chansons de jeunesse> comprised of four songs ; Pantomime, Clair de lune uses the poems by Paul Verlaine(1844-1896) and Pierrot by Théodore de Banville(1823-1891) and Apparition by Stephane Mallarme(1842-1898). Alexader von Zemlinsky(1871-1942) was a active late romanticism and 20th century modernism Austrian composer. Zemlinsky did not use musical characteristic such as atonal music ; pursued own music. Zemlinskys song cycle <Walzer Gesänge, Op.6> comprised of six songs ; Liebe Schwalbe, Klagen ist der Mond gekommen, Fensterlein, nachts bist du zu, Ich gehe des Nachts, Blaues Sternlein, Briefcehn schrieb ich. This thesis first looked into Debussy's life and works, the characteristics of song, and symbolist literature and poets. Also I tried to help understand the works <Quatre Chansons de Jeunesse>, <Walzer Gesänge, Op.6> by examining Zemlinsky's life, music and songs.
