Abstract
This article analyzes three novels of the post-dictatorship, focusing on the role of the United States to support the Latin American dictatorships. Specially, the configuration of the military characters which have as a common link the training in the United States Military schools established in Latin America. The corpus includes: Margarita, How Beautiful the Sea, where the School of the Americas is mentioned; The Feast of the Goat, where the tyrant is configured by the profile of marine, and By Night in Chile, where there is represented Pinochet and the secret police who had links with the USA.
