| dc.description.abstract | 천하지언성장(『맹자』「이루하」 26)에 대한 송대 학자들 사이의 논란은 송대 맹자 성선설에 관한 논란과 직결되어 있고 주요 쟁점은 다음과 같다. 첫째 본성을 선악으로 규정할 수 없다는 소철의 해석은 맹자의 성선설에 관한 직접적인 도전으로 평가할 수 있으며, 호굉과의 유사성 역시 상정해 볼 수 있다. 둘째 본성 자체는 논하기 어렵지만, 본성의 자취인 사단을 통해 본성의 선함을 파악할 수 있다고 보고 이를 바탕으로 수양론을 전개하려 했던 주희의 해석은 소철의 해석을 비판하고 맹자의 성선설을 유지하려는 해석으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째 본성과 본성의 자취는 엄연히 다른 것이고, 본성의 자취를 바탕으로 본성을 논하는 일은 이로움에 골몰하는 결과를 가져온다고 보는 육구연의 해석은 맹자의 성선설을 옹호하면서도 주희와 다른 공부론을 전개하는 해석이라고 볼 수 있다. | - |
