- 신민법은 1958년2월22일에 공포되고 1959년1월1일에 시행되었거니와 이것은무엇보담도 과법에 관습법에 의하든 신분법이 입법화되었다는데 가장 큰 특색을 발견할 수 있을 것이다. 이 새로운 신분법의 입법은 10여년에 걸쳐서 이루어진 대사업이었다.
