dc.description.abstract | It has been an agreement on the importance of top management role. Hambric & Mason(1984) introduced 'upper-echelon perspective' argue persuasively for study of top management groups and go on to present a series of propositions linking group characteristics with performance and other dependent variables. However. there are two problems in the top management team's studies based on the upper-echelons perspective. First. the social networking role of top-team to external interest groups has been rarely discussed. mainly focusing on the internal role substantial or integrated leadership of them. Applying social network perspective to top-team's studies. this study tries to make an effort to identify how the external symbolic function of top-management has an specifically effect on organization. Secondly. CEOs have been treated as a member of top management in the past researches. in spite of CEO's powerful infuluence in real organizations. Accordingly. Considering CEO in separation with top-team. this study also explored the influence of CEO on the top managers' characteristics and process. The reliablity and validity of top managers studies will be increased through the introduction of various perspectives. | - |
