Abstract
Some research in the organizational behavior has been concerned with the individual creative behavior and attempted to identify the determinants of that behavior. Little research. however. has focused on the role of intrinsic motivation and its relationship with the individual creative behavior. Thus. this research focuses on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and creative behavior of organizational members. Also this relationship has been examined with the consideration of the organizational context variables. such as organizational encouragement. supervisory encouragement. work group supports. work autonomy. The data were collected from 318 subjects who worked in the R&D department of Korean business circles through the self-reporting questionnaires. The results of this empirical research indicate the strong and significant positive correlation between intrinsic motivation and individual creative behavior. Also both of supervisory support and work autonomy were strongly related with intrinsic motivation and creative behavior. Some implications of the results and for the future study are discussed.
