- Abstract
- A theological and philosophical doctrine called "Creation ex Nihilo" was drafted as Christian doctrine on Creation in response to contemporary theories on Creation, including Platon' s "demiurge" concept and agnosticism in Early Church. In order to make a distinction from various contemporary explanations about 'creation', Early Church fathers and theologians crafted an ad hoc doctrine, called "Creation ex Nihilo", which is still accepted among many Christians. In this paper, the writer argues that the creation story in the Book of Genesis surpress many mythological motives by changing divine names into things. The auther tries to prove this creation story on the basis of comparative Semitic philology, comparative mythology.
