dc.description.abstract | Polythiophene derivatives are important representative class of conjugated polymers that
form some of the most environmentally and thermally stable materials that can be used as optical devices. We synthesized poly(3-thiopheneacetic acid) (P3TAA) and P3TAAsurfactant complexes. All the complexes with amphiphile counterions displayed ordered mesophases. These results show that fully developed layer structures were constructed by self-assembled behavior via ion interaction. They are side-chain crystalline, smectic A, and smectic B-like phases in the solid state at room temperature. The red shifts of UV-vis absorption spectra as increase alkane side chain length were observed. Photoluminescence spectra were shown same tendency. Polymer and all complexes were investigated by using IR, NMR, POM, DSC, UV-vis, PL, WAXS, and SAXS. | en |
