dc.description.abstract | The circumstances in which the epenthetic // appears are so complex that we cannot predict its appearances.
Quite often we can find it in the position [-[N]], but it appears between any kind of meaningful unit. Although the epenthetic sound is never realized as [], I suppose its underlying representation as /+#/. Because its origin was /+#/ and since the 15th century it has been written as (ㅅ).
